Most of the 15 full-time employees have been with the firm for five to ten year, providing clients and partners with the comfort of knowing that they know what they are talking about. Uwe Schmidt - Co-owner
Uwe Schmidt started at Industrie-Contact AG (IC AG) as trainee in 1989. Just a few years later he became CEO and partner. In the nineties he took care of the German business and in the early 2000s he established the international network of the agency. In 2002 IC joined the Public Relations Global Network (PRGN) where Schmidt helped to extend the European network.
Uwe Schmidt was the president of the PRGN for one year in 2014/2015. He sees the future of PR closely with other marketing disciplines against the background of sales interests of the clients. “In general, PR have the big advantage that storytelling is a part of it and this runs from A to Z also in other disciplines. For this PR is in my opinion much better than advertising”, says Schmidt. He sees the biggest advantage of PR compared to advertising in the high credibility of editorial publications without the high media costs of advertising.

Jürgen Klimke - Co-owner
Jürgen Klimke joined IC AG in 1984 and concentrated on client expansion in Germany. The growth of the agency initiated by Klimke led 1988 to the move in bigger offices, the place of business till this day in Hamburg-Bahrenfeld. In the nineties he handled the German business together with his partner Uwe Schmidt.
From 2002 – 2017 Jürgen Klimke was parlamentarian of the CDU in the German Bundestag, where he served on several committees (with focus on development policy). Beyond that he is on hand with help and advice for the agency every time. This is no problem for the PR professional despite much foreign travel with the help of modern communication media. “I think the biggest challenge for clients and agenics is the rapid developing media landscape where ‘classic’ public relations (print, TV, radio) online PR and social media afford very exiting cross-media approaches. Many enterprises think still in stereotypes. Especially the small and medium-sized enterprises have accumulated needs”, says Klimke.
