Every day in Washington, there are dozens–or maybe hundreds–of press conferences. The grand staircase at the Capitol building is a popular spot, as is the iconic entrance to the Supreme Court after a key ruling. The White House Rose Garden is, perhaps, the most prestigious of them all. Below are three of Xenophon’s favorites:
At the top of the list is the National Press Club. Located on 529 14th Street, NW, it is only one block away from The White House. It is known as “The Place Where News Happens” so what better spot to hold a press conference than the place that politics and journalism intersect. The Club (@pressclubdc) has more than 3,500 members, with journalists from every major publication, a rich history, and superb meeting facilities.
2. Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Center
As both a private sector and a government building, and as the largest structure in D.C., the Reagan building (@reaganitcdc) hosts a variety of events throughout the year. Combine that with the amazing location at 1300 Pennsylvania Avenue, NW, two, large ballrooms, a beautiful atrium, and the center’s focus on trade and you’ve got a prime location for a press conference.
If you’re looking to host an upscale event, the Jefferson Hotel (@thejeffersondc) is a perfect venue. Built in 1923, this former apartment building has since garnered a reputation as the place to stay for movie stars, musicians, and politicians visiting D.C. Located at 1200 16th Street, NW, the Jefferson is ideally located near the White House but safely nestled away from the hustle and bustle.
